The driver of a minibus taxi lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and rolled down an embankment this morning, December 20, between Kaapsehoop and the Barberton turn-off. Three occupants died.

Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med confirmed they were declared dead at the scene.

“Another five passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries and were taken to Rob Ferreira Hospital,” Jeffrey said.
There are no road obstructions, and SAPS remain on the scene to continue their investigation.
