Dams in Mpumalanga brim after record rainfall

After record rainfall, most Mpumalanga dams are now overflowing, with several exceeding full capacity as of early January.

According to the Department of Water and Sanitation, recent reports show that, due to increased rainfall, most dams in the province reached full capacity in early January.

• Bronkhorstspruit Dam – 104.29%
• Rust de Winter Dam – 103.37%
• Loskop Dam – 101.82%
• Mkombo Dam – 102.52%
• Tonteldoos Dam – 102.53%
• Vlugkraal Dam – 101.39%
• Buffelskloof Dam – 101.16%
• De Hoop Dam – 101.50%
• Flag Boshielo Dam – 106.97%
• Blyderivier Dam – 101.72%
• Klaserie Dam – 102.12%
• Tours Dam – 100.68%
• Vygeboom Dam – 101.80%
• Witklip Dam – 101.35%
• Kwena Dam – 101.75%
• Da Gama Dam – 101.25%
• Inyaka Dam – 100.72%.

Dams not yet at full capacity

• Witbank Dam – 96.20%
• Middelburg Dam – 92.69%
• Ohrigstad Dam – 89.01%
• Nooitgedacht Dam – 99.61%.
