Where to get your new Postbank black card for Sassa grants

With the August 31 deadline looming, here is the full list of Lowveld Postbank outlets that provide Sassa card replacement services.

The deadline for the replacement of Sassa gold cards with the new Postbank black card is August 31.

Postbank said social grant recipients who are still using gold cards must migrate to the new black cards before the cut-off date or risk losing access to their grant payments, as the old cards will stop working after that date.

Black cards can be collected free of charge at Postbank service points located inside selected retailers, including Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay, Boxer and SPAR.

Here is where you can replace your card at supermarkets in the Lowveld:

SPAR and SUPERSPAR:
• SUPERSPAR Indlovu (Hazyview)
• SUPERSPAR Malelane
• SUPERSPAR Plaza (Mbombela)
• SUPERSPAR White River.

Shoprite and Usave supermarkets:
• Shoprite Acornhoek Mall
• Shoprite Barberton
• Shoprite Bushbuckridge
• Shoprite Matsamo Mall
• Shoprite Mkhuhlu Plaza
• Shoprite Thulamahashe
• Shoprite Tonga
• Usave KaMhlushwa
• Shoprite KaNyamazane

Beneficiaries only need to present a valid South African ID or a temporary ID. No forms are required, and cards can be collected in any province, regardless of where the grant was approved.

Recipients can find their nearest replacement site by dialling *120*355# on any mobile phone.

The same centres can also assist with lost cards and PIN resets.

Postbank said beneficiaries who have already received their black cards do not need to take any further action.
