Lowveld mourns death of DA MPL Tersia Marshall

A legislature member and former City of Mbombela councillor has died following a vehicle accident in Rustenburg.

Democratic Alliance member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature Tersia Marshall has died in a Rustenburg hospital after sustaining injuries in a car accident.

Marshall was involved in the accident yesterday, July 15, and was admitted to Ferncrest Hospital, where she received medical treatment. She succumbed to her injuries at about 03:00.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still unknown.

Tributes pour in

Tributes have begun pouring in for Marshall, who was widely respected for her dedication to public service and her commitment to the communities she represented.

Before joining the legislature, Marshall served as a ward councillor in the City of Mbombela, where she became known for her hands-on leadership and advocacy for improved service delivery. She was sworn in as a legislature member after the 2024 election.
