Lowveld mourns passing of Nelmed co-founder Dr Dave Fourie
Tributes are pouring in for a highly respected doctor who dedicated years of service to the Mbombela healthcare sector.
The Lowveld community is in mourning following the sudden passing of beloved local medical doctor and Nelmed Medicross founding member, Dr Dave Fourie.
Fourie’s passing was officially confirmed by the practice on Tuesday, August 11.
A respected cornerstone of the Mbombela healthcare sector, he was well known and deeply appreciated by patients and colleagues across the region.

Nelmed Medicross shared sentiments about the loss of one of its core leaders in an official statement released on Tuesday.
“It is with great shock and sorrow that we inform the Lowveld community of the sudden passing of Dr Dave Fourie,” read the statement. “Dr Dave leaves an indelible mark on the lives of many beloved patients and the entire Nelmed family.”
The practice praised his long-standing commitment to local healthcare and extended its support to his family.
“We will miss his fearless dedication and invaluable contribution to Nelmed’s success, and our thoughts are with his family during this very sad time. Rest in peace, Dr Dave.”
