Hoërskool Barberton’s Jumanji roars to life in spectacular style

The school's learners brought the iconic movie to life during the concert.

Hoërskool Barberton hosted a musical titled Jumanji from October 8 to 10.

The show lived up to its title as the main characters took the audience into the jungle on an exhilarating ride from one brilliant scene to another with songs like “Jumanji”, “Jungle”, “Roar”, “Snake” and “Eye of the Tiger”.

The word ‘jumanji’ means ‘many effects’ and the four main characters found themselves sucked into the game of Jumanji. Unlike the original game, Jumanji took the form of a video game with a glitch.

The four teens became the avatar characters in the game and had to visit other games like chess and Monopoly to find the missing piece and finish the game to leave. The balance between dialogue, energetic dancers, brilliant singers, excellent background and lighting made this an exceptional play.
