5 Most iconic places to take a selfie in Nelspruit

Nelspruit Newbies, Zani and Enver explore the best places to take a selfie in Nelspruit. #NelspruitNewbies

1.The Mbombela Stadium

This is a great spot for a selfie with the iconic giraffes lining the sky in the background.  The only challenge we had with this selfie was the sun shining directly into our eyes. Get directions to the stadium here.

2. LED Light Tree outside Riverside Mall

Riverside Mall is arguably one of the biggest indicators that the city is growing. Whether you’re a window shopper, a serious business person or just out for a leisurely hour or two with the family or friends, let the lights lend some illumination to your selfie. Here’s how to get there.

3. Emnotweni Casino Garden

On Saturdays this garden at Emnotweni Casino is a popular destination for newlyweds. Just a note of caution, don’t fall into the water, unless your cellphone is waterproof. You can go take your own iconic selfie by following the yellow brick road here.

4. Soccer ball reservoir in Steiltes

You don’t have to be a football fanatic to see why this is the ideal place for that oh-so unique selfie! The location offers near-panoramic views of Nelspruit. Why would you not want to take a selfie perched atop the deck which has become synonymous with the city. Here’s how we got there.

5. Cascades Waterfall in the Botanical Gardens

The Cascades viewpoint is located inside the Lowveld Botanical Gardens. We recommend going there after it rains for the best backdrop. There is a fee of  R35 to enter and pensioners can enter for free on Tuesdays.  Here’s how we got there. ALSO READ: Keep it moving forward with the Nelspruit Newbies
