Mambas scoop honours in Sidlale
The giant sugar-producing company, Tsb Sugar has once again delivered a high- calibre sport event which brought much- needed entertainment and game time to local teams.

Their initiative, the Sukumani Sidlale Soccer Tournament, which is hosted annually at the Matsulu township, did not only attract a huge turnout but was also a resounding success, just like the Selati Super Cup which is also a Tsb Sugar’s annual sponsored initiative hosted within the Nkomazi subregion by more than 100 soccer teams.
Speaking exclusively with Mpumalanga News after the Sukumani Sidlale finals, where Matsulu Green Mambas were crowned new champs after trouncing Matsulu Chelsea FC, the sugar company’s, Vusi Khoza attributed the successes of their sport events to unity and community participation.
“The approach we take whenever we host these games, is that we involve everyone and try to run an open and transparent event.
“We try by all means to include and involve the communities which these teams represent.
“We rely on more combined ideas from the general public and together plan in
advance for these soccer tournaments,” explained Khoza.
“People appreciate the fact that they are involved in decision-making and that they can shape and make these events a success we all have witnessed over the years.”
Khoza assured the soccer-loving community of Nkomazi and the rest of Ehlanzeni
district that the Selati Cup is coming back next year and was going to be bigger
and more exciting.
“We are going to open the voting lines before Christmas to allow everyone ample time to vote for their teams.
“We would like to invite potential sponsors to also come to the party on time.
“We would like to thank al those sponsors who have been with us since inception because without their support there would be no Selati Cup,” said Khoza.
He said more information related to the Selati Cup voting system will be made public through the media in due course.
