The Sabie MOTH Club, the Jock Shellhole, hosted golf fund-raiser

Last week's cold and rainy weather did not discourage more than 50 keen golf players who gathered on the greens of the Sabie Golf Club in aid of the MOTH Clubhouse and the Sabie Retirement Home.

“One of the ideals is to maintain the living spirit of frontline comradeship through mutual help.
“Each shellhole chooses its own charity, and because so many people forget the retirement homes, we decided to support the Sabie Retirement Home,” explained Archie Knoesen, adjudant of Jock Shellhole and organiser.
“We hope that the people of Sabie will also support the sale of poppies on November 8 for Remembrance Day, normally held on November 11. All the proceeds will go to the Sabie Retirement Home.”
Without sponsors a golf day like this would not be possible. Merry Pebbles, Floreat Hotel, Attilio’s Restaurant, Hazyview Cash & Carry, Wild Fig Tree Restaurant, Supa Quick Sabie, Plato Hydraulics, Sabie Country Club and Nelspruit Moths sponsored the prizes which helped to make the day so successful.
Winners of the prizes were as follows

• 1st place – Chris van Rensburg, Etienne Quin, UT Smit and Eddie Swanepoel with 89 points;

• 2nd place – Raymond van der Merwe, Ed Fraser, Joe Roberts and Ron Reeves-Moore with 88 points;
• 3rd place – Johan Burger, Weber de Klerk, Natie Kruger and Fiaz
Bhikhoo with 87 points. The ladies winners were Elsa Claunch en Leanne
Abercrombie.
A special word of thanks to all the people who helped with the organising for their hard work. Without their help the event would not have been possible.
