Uplands dominate the first round of T20
The Uplands 1st XI outclassed local rivals Penryn and secured victory in the first round of the Coca-Cola T20 competition.

Sent in to bat first, the Uplands top order faltered and found themselves in trouble at 57 for four in as early as
the seventh over. Top knocks by Clem Murray (49 off 43 balls) and Dean Carlisle
(41 off 33) steadied the ship and the boys ended up with a respectable 141 for
seven in their 20 overs.
Four wickets in the first nine balls had Penryn
reeling at five for four. Two fighting partnerships from their middle order
weren’t enough as their batting line up capitulated to 36 all out in the 10th
over. Sam Steyn and Jason Bruce-Brand picked up three wickets apiece and Gareth
Park nabbed two in the most comprehensive victory this season.
Uplands won by
105 runs to proceed to the next round.
