Aces ready for Ajax

Following a two-week break the Premier Soccer League (PSL) resumes this week with home team, Mpumalanga Black Aces entertaining the Cape Town-based outfits, Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

Having won their last encounter at Mbombela
Stadium, Aces will surely look to continue their good run here, and also take
advantage of the limping Ajax who haven’t played well since the season started.
“Just as we said earlier that we are turning Mbombela Stadium into our own
slaughterhouse, it’s not going to be any different when we host Ajax on
Saturday.
As you know, all teams in this competitive league want to finish
the season in a better position and the entire camp knows just how important it
is for the team to finish in the top eight. So we need to collect maximum
points, especially when playing at home,” said Aces’ spokesman, Gordon
Masondo.
Aces assistant coach, Clive Barker has shown great maturity and we
have seen great and entertaining football from this team who recently gained
promotion to the PSL. Currently in ninth position, the home team know that they
will have to work extra hard to overcome Ajax.
“We are aware that they are
not doing well but we are not going to underestimate them, because as you know
they can play good football on a good day. We are going to give them the respect
they deserve but show them no mercy in the field of play,” continued
Masondo.
With quality players such as Thulani Hlatshwayo, Franklin Cale and
Nathan Paulse, Ajax, who are languishing in position 14, will certainly give it
their all and try to turn the tide.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
