Players enjoy golf with a twist on the tess

Manthano Christian School hosted their fifth annual golf day on Friday November 1, although it was a first to be played at the beautiful Nelspruit Golf Course.

The aim of the day was to generate funds for the much-needed
upgrading of the school’s playground and to help Hospice White River, while
having great fun.
All considered the day to have been a great success, with
80 players taking up their clubs, anxious to win one of the incredible prizes
sponsored by various companies. There were three fun holes in which players had
to chip with a hinged club, play with the wrong hand and try to get the ball
into a bucket with small opening, where more wonderful prizes were up for grabs.

A traffic officer, CJ van Rhyn was also on duty and fined players for among
others playing like a girl, failing to offer a bribe, driving recklessly, which
added an additional amount of R650 to the day’s income. A total amount of R19
538 00 profit was made.
“We wish to thank all our sponsors in adding to make
this a day to be remembered by all players. Without their support the day would
not be the big success that it was. Those who attended had a great time as it
was not just a day for being serious, but also brought out the lighter side of
golf. Our biggest sponsors were Makro, SPAR Lowveld, Couch House Hotel and
StayEasy among others,” said headmaster, Colleen Kotze.
