Tactical racetrack poses a challenge to participants

Malalane Toyota was host to some of the best downhill mountain bikers in South Africa on Sunday. Known as the most tactical racetrack in South Africa, the riders had their work cut out for them.
Built by Dirk Lourens and Malalane Toyota the track offered a great view of the racers as they passed trees,and navigated rocks and holes at the speed of lightning and performed incredible jumps.
The event was well attended by people of all ages, some new to the sport and some followers of the riders.
According to Lourens, 30 racers attended the challenge, but only 26 participated due to crashes and sore bodies sustained during practice runs on Friday and Saturday.
The winner of the Malalane Toyota Downhill Challenge was Tim Bentley with a time of three minutes and three seconds, closely followed by Tiaan Odendaal in a time of three minutes and four seconds.
Johan Potgieter came third in three minutes and 10 seconds.
