Local athlete ready to run for his life

Barbertonian athlete, Aubrey Mabuza, is getting ready to jet off to Ethiopia for the Great Ethiopian Run on Monday November 18.

He was selected by team Orbis Africa at the Nike We Run Mzansi Race that took place in Cape Town last year on December 5.
Mabuza competed against two runners who have been to the Olympic
games, Able Kitumi and Amos Nigel and he came third overall.
The Great Ethiopia Run will start on Sunday November 24 with a 10km run and 5x10km relay on Monday.
Mabuza plans to run his last race of the year on November 30 at
the Ehlanzeni Sports Tourism Day, where he aims to take the first prize of R5 000.
His future plans are to partake in a couple of overseas competitions
namely the Great Manchester Run, Great Scottish Run, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Great Wall of China Half Marathon.
Mabuza is sponsored by Barberton Ford, but is still in need of R1 000.
Anyone who can assist him can contact him on 071-983-1783.
