LHS tennis girls on fire against Robbies

Nokubonga Shongwe and Nompendulo Mkhatswa won their singles games and LHS also won one of the doubles games.
The boys played against Hoërskool Nelspruit and unfortunately lost with 34 games to 21. Siyabonga Mahima was the only one who won his singles game and Yusuf and Ivan beat NHS in their doubles game.

All the first team girls and Ivan also entered in the Lowveld closed five tournament which started on Friday afternoon and continued until late Saturday afternoon. The players did very well and Ivan who played against some of the Lowveld’s “big guns” did exceptionally well.

He ended second overall in the u/18 age group. Wandi and Nokubonga also did extremely well and also played against some of the top girl tennis players in the Lowveld. Both played in the u/18 and Wandi ended third, Nokubonga fourth and Nompendulo ended seventh overall. Nthombi ended sixth overall in the u/16.

At the regional netball play-offs on Saturday, Lowveld High’s u/16’s fell out in the semi-finals but the u/14’s and 1st team played in the finals. The u/14’s final was very exciting and tense, their end result was determined by a sudden death goal by Rob, hence they qualified in the second place to play at the Provincial Championships on June 20 and 21. The 1st team was beaten with one goal in the finals in a beautiful match against Rob, hence they also go to the Provincial Champs in the second place.
