Local schools tagged for rugby at Mbombela
Senzo Ndluvo from Tsandzanani Primary drew the coveted spot to run out onto the field on Saturday as the official Test match mascot, via a lucky draw.
MBOMBELA – Two local schools have the opportunity of a lifetime when they will play their Tag rugby final during the half-time break at The Springboks and Wales Test at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Ten local schools were invited to take part in the event on Thursday 19 June 2014 at Hoërskool Nelspruit’s rugby fields. These schools were selected in consultation with the Steval Pumas Rugby Union.
The kids were kitted out in an assortment of colours as they were geared and ready to display their skills for a chance to represent their school at the Tag rugby final.
Tsandzanani and Letsakuthula Primary Schools came out tops at the tournament will have the honour of playing in the Tag Rugby final at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday during half time. To add to the day’s hype, Senzo Ndluvo from Tsandzanani Primary drew the coveted spot to run out onto the field on Saturday as the official Test match mascot, via a lucky draw.
Senzo, smiling from ear to ear, will be running onto the field with Springbok Prop, Jannie du Plessis in the build up to the match.
