With less than six weeks away Du Preez has been added to an alarmingly long list of injured Springbok players ahead of the Rugby Championship against Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.

Meyer has since raised his concern regarding Du Preez’s ankle injury and he long list of unavailable players.

“I am very worried about Fourie,” said Meyer.

“I think he [Du Preez] is still the best scrumhalf in the world and you could just see that Handré looked brilliant next to him.

“The way he gives input on attack, he controls the game, his kicking game as well, so I am really worried.

“There is a big concern there and just really hope he will be ready for the Rugby Championship, but we still have two other No.9s.”
