Uplands finish off early against Witbank on the cricket fields
Uplands 1st XI hosted HTS Witbank this past Saturday.

Uplands won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. Dean Carlisle and Keagan Du Preez got the batting off to a good start and remained in good form, with Uplands ending up on 324 for five.
Dean Carlisle 44, Keagan Du Preez 69, Matthew Nepgen 88, Clem Murray 53. Witbank went in to bat but were soon pegged back by some accurate bowling and superb fielding. Clem Murray took the first catch of the day giving Gary Park his first wicket, in total Gary took five wickets, a catch by Ozayr Karodia gave Bevan Carlse a much needed wicket.
Matthew Nepgen took a wicket, bowled. A run out by Clem Murray and birthday boy Gavin Botha picking up a wicket, saw Witbank finish on 91 for nine.
Uplands’ dominant batting display led to a convincing 229 runs.
