Great weather and greens make Umvubu Festival a spectacular event

Sabi River Sun Golf Club put the fun back in fund-raising during its annual Umvubu Festival of Golf at the Sabi River Sun on May 22 and 23.

The warm hospitality of the Lowveld made the golf weekend an unforgettable experience for the 40-plus golfers from various clubs and businesses who participated. The format was a fourball alliance with variants and numerous competitors also impressed with meticulous putting.

After the first day the golfers enjoyed a hearty dinner of lasagne at the clubhouse with a lot of socialising and refreshments, as well as an auction. Saturday morning the players were in good spirits thanks to the sunny weather and enjoyed the various watering holes on the greens.

Players could fill their stomachs with another exceptional meal at the end of the tournament and were looking foward to the great prizes that would be given away during the prize-giving ceremony.
