Funduro attracts a spectacular crowd
It was a hot but beautiful day at Killarney Farm House and the perfect setting for an awesome but very challenging event.
The Killarney Alvember Funduro was held on Saturday and as usual attracted the attention of enthusiasts from all over the Lowveld. The funduro was held to raise funds for a cancer patient as well as Hospice.
It was a hot but beautiful day at Killarney Farm House and the perfect setting for an awesome but very challenging event.
The turnout was spectacular and according to organisers, it was a sight to see how many people had come to stand together to support this worthy cause.
The funduro was divided into three classes – gold for the pros and roof enthusiasts, silver for the intermediate guys still looking for a challenge and bronze for the beginners.
As the riders started coming in per lap you could see the delight on their faces. They thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The junior riders were also able to tackle a kiddies track.
Other entertainment for the kids included a water slide and jumping castle in the garden. To bring this amazing day to a close a banquet and auction was held to help raise more money for the cause.
“What a turnout we had. It is such a good feeling to know that there are so many wonderful people in the world who are willing to come together and make a difference.
“Thanks to everyone who came and supported us at the Killarney Alvember Funduro, you all made a difference,” said Kym Adler, one of the organisers.
