Local riders saddle up for qualifiers

A number of local riders from the Lowveld Western Riding Club (LWRC) recently competed in the first qualifier for the Western Mounted Games (WMG) in Ermelo. The second qualifier took place on March 19 in Bethal.

The next qualifying round will also take place in Bethal this weekend, the fourth qualifier in June. If the riders, Deon Oliver, Chrisné Vermeulen, Stefanie Vermeulen, Marike Vermeulen, Zanlee Steyl, Tanishia Steyl and Cor-Mari Oliver accumulate enough points, they will be in for the provincial team, representing Mpumalanga at the South African Western Mounted Games Association later this year.

On May 7 the first qualifying round for the Reigning and Western Performance will take place at the LWRC, just outside Barberton.

LWRC presents a training show on May 14 and 15 at Uplands College for WMG and Extreme Equestrian Trail, Extreme Trail and Obstacle as well as a demo on Reining and Western Performance.
