Rob invites experts prior to season
This weekend, not only is Hoërskool Rob Ferreira host to Mpumalanga's greatest athletics and coaching clinic since 2010, but the South African Cross Country championships will also be held at the school.
Building up prior to the weekend, Robbies is hosting the second Mpumalanga Athletics Open, on Thursday.
The coaching and athletes clinic will take place from September 30 to October 4. The Athletics South Africa (ASA) coaching clinic level one and two will also take place from the Friday to the Tuesday.
Some athletes who will be present at the clinic is sprinter Carel van Wyk, who started his athletics career in 1982.

He won his first South African national title 28 years later, aged 35, in the 100-metre and 200-metre events. Van Wyk, two time SA champion, aged 35 to 39 and once in the 40 to 44 years category, represented South Africa at three World Masters Athletics Championships in 2011 in Sacramento, USA, 2013 in Porto Alegre, Brazil and 2015 in Lyon, France.
Dewald van Heerden is a three-time SA Schools National champion and holds three national school records in three different age groups in shot put. He competed at the World Junior Championship and was crowned Africa Junior champion in 2009 and was a Zone-6 discus and shot put champion in 2010.
He was also crowned SA u/23 champion and competed at the Africa Senior Games. As a coach he has already produced three SA school champions.
