Barberton Golf Club were once again able to host their open championship thanks to the Generous Sponsorship of Inyoni Africa Barberton.

This is the eighth year running that they have done so.

The day was a resounding success with 55 entrants from as far as Pretoria, Johannesburg, Mbombela, White River and Malalane.

The gruelling 36-holes competition was won by local player Rikus Nel with 144 gross points.
In second place was Karel Jacobz from Randfontein on 145 points. Third place went to Jacques du Preez from Nelspruit on 146.
The nett winner was Solly Mmila with
136 points.
The runners-up was Welcome Mahaye on 139 and third was Dumisa Gama
on 140.
The women’s nett was won by Patrys Swart on 156 points.
The longest day went to Etienne Herbst on 186.
