Scorching-hot action in cup quarter-finals

NAAS – Fans came in numbers to support the teams playing for a spot in the Mayoral Sports Development Cup semi-finals.
The weekend was packed with matches at both the KaMaqhekeza and KaMhlushwa stadiums and there were several jaw-dropping moments.
“The tournament is good for development, especially for the Nkomazi Local Football Association (NLFA). It gives an opportunity for the young ones to unleash their talents,” stated Mr Collen Silabela, secretary of the NLFA.
The tournament included u/13, u/15, u/19, women, open and masters, and legends categories. The NLFA is happy with the progress of the tournament so far.

The match between Sambo Block B United and Schoemansdal Double Action was postponed to Friday at the KaMaqhekeza Stadium.
The match between Buffelspruit All Blacks and Shando Real Aces was played under protest, but it did not stop the teams from putting on a great performance. The teams played a draw of 3-3.
Shando Real Aces lost 3-4 on penalties and Chippa United Ladies lost 10-1 to the Nkomazi Ladies.

A draw for the semi-finals took place on Monday, with matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. On December 26, two teams will compete for third and fourth place at the KaMaqhekeza Stadium, with the finals set for January 7 at the KaMhlushwa Stadium.
“We are looking forward to people supporting the teams. There are great prizes up for grabs. All the finalists will receive soccer kits, medals and a soccer ball,” Silabela staid.
