The mud is calling you!

The Toyota Warrior Race is returning for the second consecutive year to the Lowveld and will once again take place at Kwanyoni Lodge on the weekend of May 27 and 28.

All you need is a pair of old running shoes and a sense of adventure. The event has struck a chord with adventure-loving South Africans, presenting a physical and mental challenge, turning everyday people into warriors in the spirit of overcoming adversity.

This will be the first time that the Reebok Sprint Race will be coming to town. It is a shorter, more exciting format of racing which involves teams of three or individuals racing against the clock.

The course is 400 metres with 10 obstacles. Big prize money is up for grabs and entries are free: R5 000 for the first male and female to finish and the first team to complete the route will get R6 000.

These events are action packed and attract a lot of spectators. It should be very interesting to see what happens when the local crossfit boxes or gyms challenge each other.

There will be an OCR masterclass on the Friday before the event, where some of South Africa’s top OCR athletes will share tips of the trade and their knowledge of the sport. This will take place at Kwanyoni Lodge on the Sprint Race course. Those interested can get more info on www.warrior.co.za.

The fourth leg of Warrior Race is the perfect outing for families who love adventure and the outdoors – with something for everyone to enjoy.

Competitors can choose from three distances, and kids can tackle their very own obstacle course as many rounds as they wish, or have fun in the supervised kid’s area while parents take part.

The vibe at this event will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The atmosphere will be even more electric and exciting than before as drumming sensation Shaun Oosthuizen will be at the start adding to the hype.
