Kamffer chosen for SA Showing Champs
The Adult South African Showing Championships will be hosted for the first time in Mpumalanga this year, at the prestigious Dunkeld Equestrian Estate in Dullstroom from October 24 to 29.
It is the highlight of the annual showing calendar where teams from all over the country are invited to participate in the South African Team and Individual Showing and Working Championships.
The Lowveld rider chosen for the open team event is Kraai Kamffer on Lezar Solero, who also attended the previous year’s championships in Port Elizabeth where they took the Warmblood Working Riding and Hunter Championship, the Strictly Come Showing Championship, and the South African Reserve Open Working Championship.
This pair is also the current reigning SA Derby Working Riding Champions.
Joining them in the team this year are Marina Groenewald on Sunset, Marise de Bruto on Lady Res, Nadia Bouwer-Kemp on Seeis Sanchez and Alex Butcher on Brandenburg Lancelot.
Both Butcher and Kamffer are also in the challenge team on their second rides, Rathmore Casanova and Varlet Umfolosi.
Other challenge team members are Carla Gerdes riding Genot Goudman, Sonja Coetzee on Lady Nova, Isabet Erwee on Lulu du Belle.
Other local horses participating will be Brandenburg Hector owned by Naomi Strydom, also ridden by Kamffer.
Kamffer will ride Wohlstand Lucy Lin, owned by Elzabeth Mohammed and Alana van der Walt, whose youngsters Wohlstand Bokertoff Chiquito and A Kind of Magic will take part in the in hand classes.
