Two Lanies dash their way to SA Championships

Two of Laerskool Malelane's athletes are hard at work preparing for the South African Championships next weekend.

Hope Madonsela and Fumani Chauke of Laerskool Malelane will head to Paarl after brilliant performances during the Mpumalanga Championships on March 3.

Fumani came third in the 80-metre hurdles and Hope was first in the 100 metres with a new record. She also managed a distance of 8,79 metres in shot-put.

Their fellow Lanies also did well during the provincial event. Andile Mayisa came sixth and Moagi Moletsane reached the semi-finals in the 70-metre hurdles.

Sihle Mkhatshwa was fifth in the 150-metre hurdles and Romeo Manzini was fourth in the 100-metre sprint and sixth in the 80-metre hurdles.

Siphesihle Dlamini came sixth in long jump and fifth in shot-put. Ed Ndlala managed a 9,36-metre throw in shot-put and Teagan Terblans was seventh in the same event with a distance of 7,75 metres.
