Motau joins national team ahead of Diamond Challenge

Local netball player Lentsa Motau has been included in the President's XII, set to battle it out in the Diamond Challenge in Limpopo this coming week.

The team was announced by national coach Norma Plummer in Tshwane on Sunday.
South Africa will be represented by the SPAR Proteas as well as the President’s XII, which will showcase some of the up-and-coming stars of the game.

The two teams will take on national sides from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia over five days of scintillating action at the Ngoako Ramathlodi Sports Complex in Seshego from today until December 1.

Former u/19 and u/23 Protea player, Motau, said it is an honour to represent her country.

“It has been a memorable season and I have really worked hard for this opportunity,” she said.

The Diamond Challenge action gets under way at 15:00 with the SPAR Proteas taking on neighbours Namibia before Botswana battle it out with Zimbabwe at 17:00. The last match of the day will then see the President’s XII up against Zambia.

The games will be broadcast live on SuperSport 8.
