Wild Hogs hold Boar Crushers to a 9-all draw
It quickly became clear that they wanted to send out a message; they were there to redeem themselves from the first league game defeat earlier this month.

The junior Wild Hogs took to the ice with a huge roar during their second league game on Sunday. It quickly became clear that they wanted to send out a message; they were there to redeem themselves from the first league game defeat earlier this month.
Wild Hogs wins the first game of the season
The game set at a very high pace by the Boar Crushers’ forwards. The support of a powerful defence allowed the goals to roll in early in the game, with not much answer from the Wild Hogs in the first period. This allowed the Boar Crushers to proceed into the second period with a convincing lead.
But knowing the Wild Hogs, from the drop of the puck in the second period it was a fight for victory. From solid defence to sure attack, they crept back into the game. Numerous shots on goal from both teams sure put the goalies to the test, however, they stood their ground and proved their worth by holding back the huge onslaught thrown at them.
In the third period the Wild Hogs opened the floodgates with supercharged goals to even the score on the final whistle. From the moment Ulrich van der Westhuizen set foot in the locker room to skating out on the ice, his determination to secure a win for his team, the Boar Crushers, was clearly visible.
His textbook skill and hard work on the night secured him the title of man of the match.
