Faf de Klerk sets the Internet abuzz with a brilliant 60-metre intercept try for the Sale Sharks.
Faf de Klerk set the Internet abuzz this past weekend. This time however, it was not for posing in his SA flag undies. Mbombela-born scrumhalf Francois (Faf) de Klerk showed great anticipation and pace to score from 60 metres out on his return to the English Premiership for Sale Sharks.

Faf was born in Mbombela on October 19, 1991. From an early age (u/9), Faf played for Laerskool Bergland’s A team and also captained Bergland’s first team. He was coached by the his father Tobie, and Nelspruit Rugby Club’s Herklaas du Preez in grade 8 and 9 at Hoërskool Nelspruit before he went to Hoërskool Waterkloof.
He was an important member of South Africa’s victorious 2019 Rugby Championship campaign and was duly selected for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. When he’s not playing for the Boks, he struts his stuff for Sale Sharks in Greater Manchester, England.
