Camaraderie and charity at MOTH Golf Day

The 2023 MOTH Golf Day is already being planned

The MOTH organisation will add two cottages to its complex in Mbombela, thanks to the funds raised at the MOTH Golf Day at Mbombela Golf Club on Thursday February 24.

“The MOTH is the largest provider of housing to ex-military personal and civilians in South Africa,” said JC Coetzee of the organisation.

“The need for the upkeep and expansion is ever-present, and therefore the Moths of Nelspruit decided to have a fundraising golf day to add two more cottages to our complex, which currently consists of 18 cottages.

“We wish to thank our sponsors and players alike, and yes, we are already planning the 2023 golf day.

“To Alichia and Ettienne, a special thanks for the time and effort put in to make the day a huge success. To our main sponsor, Thorburn Security Solutions, thank you for your generosity. Thank you, Tsebo Catering Solutions, for the halfway house lunch boxes. Also thanks to Rooibaard for the excellent dinner. All the other sponsors – thank you so much.

“To the band Dare to Believe that had themselves auctioned for a private function, thank you. For the Centurion gate motor donated by Lumia, a weekend for six people at Crystal Springs and for all the donations that were auctioned, thank you,” said Coetzee.

The fourball alliance, scramble drive, two scores to count, was won by Fred Coetzee, Willem Schoeman, Danie Bezuidenhout and Obed Mashego with 112 points.

“To Darren at the golf club, thank you for the effort that you and Lazarus put in to make the day the success it was. From the Moths of Legogotu Shellhole, we thank and salute you all,” said Coetzee.

The MOTH Sunday social golf will be held on June 26.
