Every week buses transport some of the villagers for the games in the Penge area. The games are hosted only on weekends at venues confirmed by the League Organising Committee.

These games also boost local economy with hawkers benefitting by selling fast foods and soft drinks during the matches.

“Our teams have so far participated in 11 games each. We rotate the venues for our matches. In the past we have organised the games at Mokgotho, Maretlwaneng, Mamogolo and Ga-Motshana villages,” said the league’s chairperson, Freeman Shai.

“Our wish is to improve sports in our area. This league keeps our youth busy during the weekends. The crowd is massive and future stars will emerge from the league. We want these boys to play in the elite league in future. With the support we give them, the future will be much brighter and they will don the national colours,” added Shai.
