Lowvelder Golf Challenge part two is around the corner
With a year's free membership at Mbombela Golf Club on offer, golfers have all the reasons needed to make the most of the 2025 Lowvelder Golf Challenge.
After a promising start to the second year of the Lowvelder Golf Challenge last month, the second edition for 2025 is all set to tee off at Mbombela Golf Club next week.
The first round was held on March 23, and Attie van Wyk emerged victorious with his haul of 41 points.
Marthie Horn finished second with 39 points followed by Shane Davies on 38. This year, the stakes are even higher throughout the 10-part series as the biggest prize yet will be up for grabs – a free year-long membership to Mbombela Golf Club.
Octopi Smart Solutions and Du Toit-Smuts & Partners Attorneys are back on board as sponsors for the series this year, bringing their expertise to the fore once more.
As was the case in 2024, the competition is being played in an individual Stableford format, with an additional surprise format to be revealed on the day.
To contend for the title, players must compete in at least five out of the 10 competition days, as their five best scores will count towards the overall standings after the grand final, which will be hosted on November 20.
The second 2025 Lowvelder Golf Challenge will be held on April 16. Players are responsible for booking their own rounds and carts by contacting the club on 013 744 0952.
Eligibility for prizes requires attending the prize-giving ceremony. Participants must be affiliated with a club and hold an official handicap.
