Fourth Lowvelder Golf Challenge on the horizon

The Lowvelder Golf Challenge series is now nearing the halfway point for the year.

The fourth competition in the 2025 Lowvelder Golf Challenge series has come around, and will be held at Mbombela Golf Club on June 25.

With Octopi Smart Solutions and Du Toit-Smuts & Partners Attorneys on board as sponsors for the series again, the first round of the year was held on March 23, and Attie van Wyk emerged victorious with his haul of 41 points. Round two winner Robin Paige replicated Van Wyk’s points to add his name to the winners circle for the year. Round three belonged to Mary-Ann Braithwaite who scored 43.

After the first three rounds it is Rian Joubert who is leading the way with 109 points. He’s followed in second by Sakkie de Lange (108) and Pieter Viljoen Jr (107) in third. The competition is played in an individual Stableford format, with an additional surprise format to be revealed on the day.

To contend for the title, players must compete in at least five out of the nine competition days, as their five best scores will count towards the overall standings after the grand final, which will be hosted on November 20.
