IN PHOTOS: Finals loom at long last for Lowveld Padel Franchise League

The three finals will undoubtedly serve up some exciting padel action as they round off the second season of the league.

After more than four months of scintillating padel action, rain delays and building excitement, the time has come for the finals of the Lowveld Padel Franchise League.

Having started back in September 2025, the league and its various divisions were initially meant to have wrapped up by December. But due to various delays, caused by rain and more, the conclusion of the league has continuously had to be put on hold.

It has been the second season of the league, which is made up of three divisions – Men’s Premier, Men’s Championship and Ladies. The Ladies Division has been a welcome addition, as the first season only included the two men’s divisions.

Each of the three divisions has seen great buy-in from Lowvelders who enjoy playing padel with a competitive edge and showcasing their skills on the court. Scores of players have been involved in hundreds of matches over the course of the season, battling it out for point after point.

But now only the finals remain, and contenders in two of the three divisions’ deciders have already been established. The semi-final in the Ladies Division was played on February 5 to determine who will face the Lunar Lillies in the final.

In the Men’s Championship Division it will be the Desert Falcons and the Globo Boomerangs battling it out for glory. The Desert Falcons’ representative team in the Men’s Premier Division will also be taking part in their final, taking on the Sonic Viboras.

The Falcons earned their spot in the final thanks to a tough victory over the Kick Smashes at Play360 on February 2. The Falcons won five of the six matches played, but each match featured tight competition from start to finish. The Men’s Championship and Ladies finals will be played on February 7 while the Men’s Premier Division final will take place on Monday, February 9.
