Meet: Awie Davis
Awie is a sixth-dan master instructor in Tang Soo Do Korean martial arts. What enhances this achievement even more is the fact that Awie only got involved in this sport at the age of 26.

Awie Davis’ fascination with wolves has been part of him for as long as he can remember. Small wonder that 29 years ago he named his martial arts academy “Wolves”.
“I have been fascinated with wolves and Native Americans for as long as I can remember. I love their culture and the way they interact with each other, and the fact that hierarchy is strictly adhered to.”

“It is actually a lovely story. My son Xander was still very young when we enrolled him for karate. But he refused to go on the floor at tournaments unless I joined him. And to be honest, the bug just bit.”
What he loves about martial arts is that it teaches you self-control. “Your biggest opponent is yourself.”
At Wolves Academy, a variety of martial arts disciplines are taught.

This includes Haedong Gumdo, the Korean art of sword fighting. Awie also teaches kickboxing, Krav Maga, Brazilian Jijutsu and mixed martial arts.
