Mbombela primary schools shine on netball courts and rugby fields

Laerskool Nelspruit hosted various schools in the Herotel Premier 8 Rugby and Hockey Tournament on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6.

The visiting schools were Laerskool Die Poort, Laerskool Klipfontein, Nelspruit Primary, Laerskool Marble Hall and Laerskool Bergland.

The wet weather made for difficult conditions on the netball courts and rugby fields, but the young players seemed to care little for the intermittent rain and gave their all for their respective teams.

The Nellies were undefeated in their rugby fixtures, winning eight and drawing one match. The U10 match between Nelspruit and Die Poort was called off on the Friday due to the threat of lighting.

Of their 12 netball matches, the various Nellies age group teams won nine, drew one and lost two.
Nelspruit Primary School’s teams roared during the two days and recorded three wins, one draw and four losses.

The Primary netball teams won one and lost 11 of their matches.
Laerskool Bergland’s various age group netball teams won seven, drew one and lost three matches.
