National colours for talented athletes
They brought home the most medals to date and Gateway now have three athletes with SACSSA national colours.
BARBERTON – On September 12 and 13, 10 learners from Gateway Christian School participated in the SACSSA National athletics competition held at Pilditch Stadium, Pretoria.
This year hosted the most athletes (1 124) from the nine different provinces as well as a sub-category G7 (Gauteng) and Zimbabwe.
Gateway Christian School under the banner of SACSSA Mpumalanga performed extremely well, and all 10 athletes achieved their personal best in various items.
They brought home the most medals to date and Gateway now have three athletes with SACSSA national colours.
The results were as follows:
Menzi Nkosi – Boys u/14: 800m, second and 1 500m, first
Nadia Dlamini – Girls u/15: 1 500m, third
Karabo Makhanya – Boys u/15: 800m, second and
1 500m, third
Rebecca Joubert achieved a top-10 position in the category u/8 – u/13, fifth overall.
Karabo Makhanya achieved a top-10 position in the category u/14 – u/19, ninth overall.
Rebecca Joubert, Menzi Nkosi and Karabo Makhanya received their SACSSA SA colours.
