Athlete on his way to youth championships
Hoërskool Bergvlam athlete Maudas Banda is on his way to the u/20 youth championships to be held in Zimbabwe in December.
MBOMBELA – Hoërskool Bergvlam’s star athlete Maudas Banda is on his way to the u/20 youth championships.
Banda, a long jumper, was recently included in the team that will represent South Africa in the championships to be held in Zimbabwe in December. This latest achievement crowns the great season the learner has experienced so far.
Earlier this year he won a bronze medal at the Mpumalanga championships. He then represented the province at the national schools championships in Polokwane.
He also represented Mpumalanga at the national athletics championships in Stellenbosch where he won a gold medal with a distance of 7,33 meters. Next he represented South Africa at the Africa Championships in Botswana in May.
The school said it was very proud of their leaner for keeping the proud flame of Bergvlam burning.
