Run happy, light and free

As a sponsored athlete, Megan McKenzie as well as other sports stars always need to find ways of increasing their exposure as brand ambassadors and promoting themselves as public figures. This in turn, keeps their sponsors happy. For this reason McKenzie called local photographer Sven Musica and told him that she would visit Kaapsehoop with a group of runners which was when this amazing photo was taken.

Musica started Terra Firm trails Mpumalanga which is now known as Terra Motion. Its main goal is to build and develop a healthy trail-running community in the stunning Lowveld, one of the most incredible areas that is relatively untouched by trail runners.

He said the reason why Kaapsehoop was one of his favourite locations to shoot, was because of its incredibly diverse landscapes with really unique and stunning views over the Lowveld.

The town offered everything a trail runner could want, with technical trails and enough flat areas to make it nice and runable – a true hidden gem.

Megan said, “Kaapsehoop is my new favourite place.”
