Nelspruit Primary proudly presents Turaco Safari

The Dlamini family is about to embark on the experience of a lifetime. Will they be able to leave the city behind and embrace nature? Will they all find the turaco?

NELSPRUIT – “You know our challenge today is to live in the modern age, but to also respect the lessons learned from our ancestors.”

Nelspruit Primary proudly presents Turaco Safari. This energetic dance show will be on stage from October 29 to November 1. Prepare to be entertained by this exciting collaboration between Nelspruit Primary, Dance Mouse Nelspruit, Respiro Studios and local artist Monolo. Share the city traveller’s journey through the beautiful savannah, as Gogo teaches her grandchildren about the traditional way of life and the youngsters learn more about the wild animals and that there is more to life than texting. Relax and laugh at the light-hearted moments as Auntie Suzie’s high-fashion lifestyle, attitude and phobias backfire in the bush.

Be amazed at the special animal faces and backdrop designed, painted by local artist Lynette Viljoen. Experience the energy and lively dance steps of the savannah animals, showing the travellers how to rock it up in style in the wild. Share in the beat and rhythm of the Nelspruit Primary djembe drummers.

The script has been specially adapted by Marilda Wiegand of Respiro Studios. Turaco Safari was produced and directed by Liz van der Merwe. Dance Mouse Nelspruit was responsible for the choreography of all the songs, assisted by NPS production staff.

Be there to see if the monkeys can entice Lebo away from his Blackberry, come help Mpho find the turaco, and have a laugh while Auntie Suzie saves herself from the shongololo.

Tickets are R70 per person and are available from Zena Swanepoel at the school office at 013-741-1651. Show starts at 18:30. Tickets for Friday November 1 already sold out.
