According to her, the brand-new, state-of-the-art Emnotweni Arena is hosting a Christmas banquet fit for royalty on December 25. Guests will be treated to a lavish buffet meal featuring traditional dishes and desserts.
On the menu is a carvery, seafood and vegetable buffet which includes the following mouth-watering dishes:
• Braised-beef short rib
• Yorkshire puddings
• Horseradish-cream smoked gammon
• Ginger and honey glaze
• Roasted free-range chicken with water-chestnut onion and thyme stuffing
• Fragrance bread sauce
• Whole grilled trout
• A mussel hot pot
• Herbed baguette and sun-dried tomato pesto
• Whole salmon gravadlax
• A freshly baked seed loaf, caper-berry spread and much more.
These meals will be finished off with decadent desserts which remains a surprise.
A family-style affair, the arena will be decked out in a festive theme and will include a children’s entertainment area where youngsters can play while their parents kick back and relax. The lunch costs R165 per adult. This includes the extensive meal, crackers, party hats, live entertainment, children’s activities, and a glass of sparkling wine for guests over the age of 18. The lunch will commence at 12:30 and go on until late.
The Southern Sun Emnotweni is also hosting a stately Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Guests will be spoiled with an indulgent buffet-style meal including salads and starters, a hot buffet and prawn selection which includes
• Roasted lamb with a stewed fruit and mint sauce
• Turkey with cranberry sauce
• Pineapple and cherry-glazed gammon
• Tandoori-style skewered chicken thighs
• Brussel sprouts with caramelised bacon
• Cauliflower and broccoli gratin
• Golden roasted potatoes
• Vichy carrots
• Glazed honey butternut with nutmeg
• Spinach and feta spanakopita, Mozambique prawns with peri peri and lemon dressing and more.
Desserts on offer include freshly sliced fruit platters, a selection of berries, a South African cheese board with nuts and dried fruits, Christmas mini pies and a selection of mini tartlets, Christmas cupcakes and malva pudding and vanilla custard.
