Three variations on extreme calorie reduction diets
Juice, charcoal and baby food. What these things have in common is that they assist in drastic weight loss. However, many say that these plans are not fool proof.
Juice Cleanse
Many celebrities swear by the juice cleanse, which entails that the dieter eats no solids. Some programs entail drinking a handful of ready-to-drink fruit and vegetable juices throughout the day. There are many variations to this basic cleanse: Victoria’s Secret angel Adriana Lima has said she sticks to an all-liquid diet before fashion shows. For nine days prior, she drinks protein shakes made from powdered egg and one gallon of water per day.
The Charcoal Cleanse
Juice containing activated charcoal is added to the fiet’s regular diet. The charcoal passes through your digestive system untouched. Because it clings to toxins in the body, it removes impurities like pesticides and any unhealthy stuff found in non-organic or processed foods. According to some, it improves the skin, boosts digestion, and enhances organ functioning.
The Baby Food Diet
This diet entails eating upward of 16 jars of baby food per day instead of regular meals and snacks. One regular meal may be eaten every day. This diet reduces calorie intake and promotes weight loss. It also removes toxins from the body and helps to break bad habits.
Why not?
Although these diets offer quick weight loss, the weight that is lost consists mostly of water loss. Weight gain comes fairly easily after weight was lost with these diets as they restrict calorie intake very dramatically.
All in all, consulting a doctor or dietician before deciding on a diet is advised.
