The music map

For those who are willing to travel for some good music and entertainment, this is for you.

MBOMBELA – The Lowveld musical socialites don’t always know how to do a ‘quiet evening in’ and many weeks go by when the Lowveld’s music radar is nothing but a blank screen with a few minor blimps.

This guide will provide information about, not only which events are happening in the Lowveld, but also shed some stage lights on events within 500 kilometres from the city – for those rock ‘n rollers who love to travel.

It might not be music, but Russell Brand’s presence in South Africa is definitely worth a mention. He will be at Montecasino in Johannesburg tonight at 20:00. Tickets are available at Computicket.

Friday 2 October:

• For the love of rock, Albert Frost is gracing the city with his guitar royalty once again. After 20 years of creating blues magic on an electric riff, it will be sinful for any blues fan to miss this opportunity.

He will be at Casterbridge Theatre at 20:00. Doors open at 18:30 and entrance is only R120.

• For yet another rock extravaganza, visit Stoep to behold the legendary Afrikaans icon, André Swiegers. He will be in the spotlight at 19:00 and entrance is only R100.

• Catch the Ian Man Show at The Pub in Jones Street. There are great prizes to be won. The best part? Entrance is free.
