Renowned Chantie Minnaar to judge at Nelspruit Eisteddfod

Minnaar will be the judge of the instrumental category of the eisteddfod.

The instrumental category of the Nelspruit Eisteddfod kicks of today with none other than acclaimed musician Chantie Minnaar as the judge.

Minnaar completed her master’s degree in performing arts under Prof Joseph Stanford at the University of Pretoria. Other qualifications include Unisa’s teacher’s and performer’s licentiates and the Trinity College of London’s performer’s licentiate – all three of which she passed cum laude.

She represented the University of Pretoria twice at the Jim Joel Music Scholarships and she also won the piano category of the ATKV Forté competition in 1997.

Her performance at the International Piano Competition in 2000 was also a career highlight.

Minnaar is currently performing throughout the country as a pianist and motivational speaker and is also the managing director of Stage Bright Productions.

She also manages piano studios in Benoni, Edenvale, Kempton Park and Sandton and released her first CD, Sparkling Classics, in 2006.

Contestants can look forward to being judged by a woman with a lot of experience both on and off the stage.
