National Read a Book Day:You have an adventure in your pocket

A list of books to add to your must-read list in 2018.

Today is National Read a Book Day, observed annually on September 6. To celebrate the wonder of storytelling, grab a book and enjoy a good read.

You do not have to celebrate the day alone, you can read to your family or have a get-together then read a book over a cup of coffee and cake with friends.

Remember: a book is basically a holiday, in your pocket! No need to let the boring or stress of your life weigh you down anymore – just jump into those pages, let the time machine take you somewhere else.

This fun activity is beneficial too: reading improves memory, concentration and reduces stress.

Its also an inexpensive way to learn something new or meet amazing people.

Here is a list of books to add to your must-read list in 2018:

1. Ingrid Jonker ‘n Biografie by Petrovna Metelerkamp
2. Ralph Haynes Godfather van die Wes-Rand by Izak Du Plessis
3. Lulu Phezulu by Leigh Voight
4. Dreaming of light by Jayne Bauling
5. Tales of the full moon by Sue Hart.
