With church members ready to return to their various services today, the leadership of Shiloh Mountain of Prayer Ministries celebrated level 3 of the lockdown regulations by donating more than 400 food parcels to the needy on June 1.

Past Angel Zenzile Mathebula, the founder of the church, with help of her husband, James Mathebula of Together Funerals, bought food parcels and delivered to church members and non-church members.

“We started our church with members scattered in various parts of Pienaar, Tekwane and KaNyamazane.

  1. “We engaged four headmen (tinduna) from around Msogwaba, Daantjie, Tembisa and Nkomeni to help us locate 44 needy families in their areas. Food parcels were delivered to various homesteads, including child headed families, single parent families and to those taking care of vulnerable children in the area,” said James.

The parcels included 10 kilograms of mealie meal, tinned food, cooking oil, soup, beans, fresh cabbages and oranges.

“We did this as a way of ploughing back to the community we serve and to affirm our love and dedication to them.

The Bible teaches us about unconditional love, hence our love and commitment to them will not be changed by any situation.

Only 50 members will be allowed to attend the church service as per level 3 lockdown regulations.
“To control the numbers, we will strictly permit the first 50 members to church and adhere to social distancing.

Lizbeth Nkosi, one of the recipients, said she was still amazed at the church’s kind gesture shown to the community.
“We are grateful to the vision and sacrifice they had because things were really bad for most families,” she concluded.
