Mrs South Africa hopeful from Mbombela knows how to make her mark

The top 50 Mrs South Africa finalists were recently announced, and among them is one of our very own - Eulender Nanni (35), who stays in the city.  Lowvelder spoke to her about her competition journey.

How has your experience with the competition been so far?
“It has been exciting regardless of what is currently happening due to Covid-19. I took this situation and made it work for me. Growth only happens when one is ready to work hard at it.”,  

Tell us a bit more about your family and home life?
“I am originally from Majembeni in Bushbuckridge and now stay in Mbombela. I am married to Franz Nanni and blessed with a 13-year-old daughter.” 

Tell us a bit more about your job and your projects in the competition?
“I am currently an administration clerk at Blinkwater Meule. I work on debtors and petty cash accounts. Blinkwater Meule is one of the leading maize meal companies in Mpumalanga. I am a qualified internal auditor and financial accountant. I am also an entrepreneur, founder of XiluvaXamama (a non-profit organisation), motivational speaker and mentor.

I am extremely passionate about changing lives. I use the experience of my qualifications to empower women and youth. And with my financial knowledge, I use it to help them to acquire financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills. Being a multifaceted woman, I use my experience in events planning and creativity in fashion to raise awareness of non-communicable diseases.”

What is your favourite part of the competition so far?
“I have two: When I get to showcase my work that I do for my community in the form of CSI projects. The projects are to raise money to help with the fund and awareness that XiluvaXamama NPC is advocating: My advocacy and cause are: • Eating disorders among children (age six and up) • Depression among kids; alcoholism among children • Autism Spectrum Disorder.”

“The workshop and online webinars which Mrs South Africa has been offering us. I have improved my skills from every one of them. “

Would you recommend that other married women should take part in the competition?
“Yes, definitely! It is not just a pageant, it is about women empowerment. It gives real women with careers and families the chance to make a difference and follow their passions and dreams.”
