Local bodybuilder keeps at it through lockdown

The lowering of Covid-19 restrictions to alert level 2 has allowed sports stars to compete in different sporting codes and to shine again. Local bodybuilder, Patrick Chegofatso Moratho, is among those excelling.

Moratho was victorious in the Fitness SA Championships. The competition was held in Cape Town last Saturday.

“I was placed first in bodybuilding under 85 kilograms and I am so excited about my victory. I celebrate this victory because I did not believe I could pull through. It was difficult in the past months as gyms were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so for a year and a few weeks I was unable to train due to lack of facilities.
“I only did home workouts, lifting weights.”

He told Steelburger/Lydenburg News he had been hard at work preparing for the Cape Town competition for the
past three months.

“I would like to thank the Body Beasts Hardcore Fitness management for allowing me to train in their facility in order to get back into shape. They welcomed me with open arms and made sure I feel completely welcome at the gym.
“I have been working tirelessly, training two times a day, with hope of having a quick recovery. I am glad
my hard work paid as I vanquished.”
