BURGERSFORT – The mayors in the Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) joined millions of South Africans to cast their votes on Monday. Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s (FTLM) mayor Ralepane Mamekoa cast her vote at Kgahlanong Secondary School.
Also affirming his right by voting at the Leokana Voting Station in Phokoane was SDM’s mayor Stan Ramaila. Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality’s mayor Minah Bahula casted her vote at Marei Primary School in Ga-Mashabela village.
After voting, Bahula urged registered voters to also do the same. She said this was the only way to bring about fundamental changes in communities and cement the country’s constitutional democracy.
“Our people must make their voices to be heard. They must decide and define this year’s local government elections by electing honourable people who will ensure the continuation of service delivery on the ground. We have made strides; lives have been improved and impacted positively in the past years,” she said.
